Meet Brooklyn Bernth - Featured Dancer

Picture
My name is Brooklyn Bernth and I am a senior at Leonardtown Highschool. My dance training started when I was very young. I was enrolled in ballet, tap, and jazz by the time I was three. I am the daughter of a marine which means I have moved quite a bit... Despite being moved around dance was always something that brought consistency to my life. Dance became very important to me when I was 11 years old. After attending various summer programs such as The Rock School of Dance, American Ballet Theatre,  and the Radio City Rockettes I knew dance would always be apart of my life.

I attended the Rockette Summer Intensive at the age of 14. I fell in love with this style of dance. It brought all my favorite styles of dance together in one! I became fascinated with the Rockettes! After spending a summer in NYC, I was invited back to their program as a "Alumni Dancer” for the next four years. Sadly due to Covid, I was not able to attend the program for my junior and senior year. Despite not being able to attend the preparatory program, I knew I wanted to join the notorious Rockettes one day. I kept this dream in mind when I was beginning my college search. I came across the Ann Lacey School of American Dance and Entertainment at Oklahoma City University. Their dance program was nationally ranked in the top ten best college dance programs and with producing more than 50 Rockettes, I knew it would help me get one step closer to my dream. I am so excited to say that I will be attending their dance program on scholarship this fall! I am beyond grateful for every single dance teacher who has helped me get to where I am today.
I aspire to one day dance next to the amazing and talented women that call the Radio City Stage their home.

As for the future, I hope to own my own dance studio one day! I love dancing but I also find the business side of studios extremely interesting. I have always been passionate about owning my own business, opening a dance studio would allow for me to combine my interest for business and my love for dance!
I am so incredibly thankful and grateful for the art of dance. I am most thankful for the lessons it has taught me through my life. The first being that to be truly successful in one’s life you must compete with yourself and not ultimately others. Secondly, in life as in dance, nothing is ever complete. There is always room for improvement and growth. The ultimate lesson which is often the hardest to grasp, is that you never, ever give up. Never give up on those you love, never give up on yourself, and never give up on your dreams. I can’t wait to see where my dance journey takes me!
